I'm Cody Miller

I'm a front-end tech lead at Wildfire Systems, where I oversee the development of our Shopping Portal, which is a white-label cashback and deals platform serving hundreds of thousands of users across multiple brand partners' individually built shopping portals. My stack centers on React, TypeScript, and CSS, but what I really specialize in is building interfaces that are accessible, well-tested, and genuinely maintainable. I came to engineering from an unusual path: ten years in special needs education, followed by a coding bootcamp and five years teaching at that same school, where I helped over 500 people start their careers in tech. That background gave me a deep commitment to accessibility and a passion for making complex things understandable to others. The work I'm proudest of isn't flashy, but it is essential for scalable and maintainable codebases: reusable component libraries that are easy to understand and use, comprehensive test suites that catch bugs early, documentation that future developers will actually thank me for. In the teams I lead, I place my focus on building culture that glorifies knowledge-sharing and rewards open discussion and collaboration in the face of unknown challenges.
